The Present

We hear all about present moment awareness. But what does it mean?
.
Generally, it means that we focus on what is here, now. What can we see? What can we hear? What thoughts are we having? What feelings?
.
So what aren’t we focusing on?
.
The past. Who we were. The mistakes we have made. The traumatic events we’ve been through.
.
The future. That illusory place where the sky will fall and we’ll end up losing everything.
.
No… we focus on now. Because nothing happening now ever causes anxiety or depression.
.
If there’s a problem, we are dealing with it. If there isn’t, we aren’t.
.
Let’s not make up problems in that illusory past and future.
