Acceptance

.
I flew to the Canary Islands last week. And as I went to the toilet mid-flight I realised something about acceptance.
.
You see, even though smoking has been banned on (most) flights for over twenty years, aeroplane toilets still have a cigarette stubber in them.
.
It’s a part of their building regulations.
.
So the question is why?
.
Here’s where we talk about acceptance… sure it’s against the rules, sure you will probably get in trouble for smoking on a flight.
.
BUT, they are accepting that it may still happen. And if it does, they’d rather the covert smoker will stub their cigarette out safely than ditch it in the paper towel bin.
.
Acceptance doesn’t mean we put up with things that we don’t like. It simply means we accept it might happen (or has¬†happened) and take appropriate steps.
